President Obama signed the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) into law on July 2014. WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
The U.S. Department of Labor in coordination with the U.S. Departments of Education and Health and Human Services are working diligently to ensure that Hawaii as well as other states is prepared for implementation of this Act.
McKinley Community School for Adults has partnered with the Hawaii Department of Labor and Department of Health and Human Service (Vocational Rehabilitation) and is an integral collaborator in the design of the required State Plan. This plan takes effect on July 1, 2015.
